This wide-ranging UK Motor Breakdown Insurance cover can take care of you in many circumstances, no matter where in the country your vehicle breakdown occurs. There is a UK-wide network of 425 recovery operators.

If you break down you will be covered for the cost of the call-out and emergency assistance charges. If your vehicle can’t be repaired immediately at the scene, or if it is not safe to try, you will be transported with your passengers to the nearest garage.†

|Vehicle Recovery and Onward Transportation||
If repairs cannot be completed by the end of the working day you will be provided with one of the following:
- Transportation of you, your passengers and your vehicle to either your home, your original UK destination, or a repairer either in the vicinity of the above locations or to a repairer of your choice
- Up to £100 towards a replacement self drive rental vehicle for up to 24 hours; public transport costs or overnight accommodation costs where you are more than 25 miles from home.
|Medical Transfer Service||If you are more than 50 miles from home and a passenger is taken ill and needs to stay in hospital, we will arrange and pay for the cost of the patient to be taken to a hospital near their home as soon as it's safe to move them.|
|Alternative Driver Service||If you are the only driver and have to stop because you are ill or injured, you will be covered for the cost of your travel home by taxi, train or coach and for someone to return to collect your vehicle.|
You can get Age Co Motor Breakdown insurance whatever your age. Eligible vehicles must be owned by or be the responsibility of the policyholder or his/her immediate family. Cover is not provided for any replacement parts or other material used in repair.

|Cover Prior To Departure||Rebooking your crossing if your vehicle is unavailable because of breakdown, accident, fire or theft in the 24 hours before you travel.|

|Missed Motorail Connection||Vehicle storage, return rail tickets and/or up to £450 for the hire of a replacement vehicle if you miss your pre booked outward journey due to accident or breakdown.||£450 for the hire of a replacement vehicle.

|Replacement Parts Despatch||Locating and despatching essential spare parts needed to repair your vehicle.||Despatch charges to the value of the vehicle. The cost of the spare parts are not included.|

|Vehicle Out Of Use||
If your car cannot be repaired during the 7 days immediately prior to your trip or within 8 hours during your trip you will be paid for one of the following:
- transportation by public transport to your original destination
|Hire car charges of up to £70 per day (£800 limit)
for hotel accommodation £40 per person per night (£800 limit)
|Camping Trips||If your tent cannot be used due to theft or accidental damage, you will be paid for the cost of hiring and delivering a replacement, or paid for emergency bed and breakfast accommodation.||Up to £100 per person and £500 in total.|
|Alternative Driver||If you are declared medically unfit to drive and there is no other suitable driver available, then you will be provided with a qualified driver to return the vehicle to the UK.||Up to £100 per day.|
|Repatriation||You will be paid for the costs of transporting your vehicle back to your home address if it can’t be repaired abroad, or paid the public transport costs to return one person to recover the vehicle once it has been repaired.||Up to the market value of the vehicle.|
|Customs Regulations||If your vehicle is damaged, or breaks down and is beyond economic repair, its disposal and the customs formalities will be dealt with.|
|Motoring Legal Protection||Telephone advice on any legal problem in connection with your trip. Legal costs to defend you against an alleged motoring offence. Legal Expenses to pursue a claim for compensation for injury suffered following a road traffic accident.||

If you buy your policy less than 24 hours before your planned departure date, you are not covered for "Prior to departure benefits”.
Individual trips which exceed 31 days are also not covered. The total number of days abroad in any one 12 month period must not exceed 180 days.
You must contact the insurer first to obtain authorisation before incurring any expenses. Age Co Motor Breakdown Insurance Claims Helpline operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you need to make a claim after you return home, you will need to get a claim form and then return it.

Age Co Motor Breakdown Insurance can’t cover you in every single situation or when you are taking part in certain activities. The principle times your vehicle is not covered are:
The motor breakdown policy covers the initial labour cost required to provide assistance at your home or at the roadside. It does not include any labour costs incurred at the garage or the cost of any replacement parts or other materials used to repair the vehicle.
The policy doesn’t cover claims for loss or damage to the contents of the vehicle. You should make sure these are covered either under your motor insurance, or away from home under your home contents insurance. Age Co Car Insurance and Age Co Home Insurance are also offered and designed with the over 50s in mind.
If you are not satisfied with your policy, you can cancel at any time by telephoning or writing to Age Co Motor Breakdown Insurance. You will only be charged for the time you have been on cover unless a claim has been made. If a claim has been made you will need to pay the full annual premium.
