Home Emergency Cover

Home Emergency Cover~ can be added to your Home Insurance policy for £52 and covers up to £500 for an approved and qualified professional to carry out repairs in the event of an emergency listed below.

What is covered?

An event that the insurer considers to be an emergency to your Home by the following causes:

  • Bursting or sudden leakage of water pipes within your home or failure of your domestic hot water heating system
  • Failure of or damage to underground drains or sewers within the boundary of your home
  • Complete failure of your mains services for which you are legally responsible for
  • Complete failure of your central heating system involving a boiler or warm air unit
  • Damage to, or mechanical failure of, the only accessible toilet or cistern in your home which results in complete loss of function
  • Removal of wasp nests, mice or rats within your home
  • Damaged or broken locks, doors and windows. Break-in or vandalism compromising the security of your home
  • Missing or repositioned roof tiles

Where your home is rendered not fit to live in as a result of an emergency covered by this policy, the insurer will pay up to a total of £250 including VAT, for reasonable overnight accommodation only costs, incurred by you.

~Home Emergency Cover can only be purchased if you are the homeowner. Home Emergency Cover is also not available to customers residing in the Scottish islands and non-permanent residential properties.

Motor Breakdown

To add Motor Breakdown cover to your Car Insurance policy for as little as £69^, call the Age Co team at the Ageas Contact Centre on 0800 032 9391*.

What is covered?  
Doorstep & Roadside Assistance If the insured vehicle is immobilised or rendered un-roadworthy as the result of an insured incident, the insurer will arrange and pay for callout and assistance at your home or at the roadside; and, if necessary, the transportation of the insured person(s) and the insured vehicle to the nearest repairer.
Message Relay If the insurer has been contacted in connection with an insured incident, the insurer will relay telephone messages to your family members, friends or business associates to advise of unforeseen travel delays.
Vehicle Recovery/Onwards Transportation

In the event of loss of use of the insured vehicle caused by an insured incident, and it is apparent repairs cannot be affected by the end of the working day in which the insured incident occurred, provided our services were requested at the time of the insured incident:

The insurer will arrange and pay for the transportation of the insured person(s), and if appropriate, the insured vehicle: 

i) to the policyholder's home address. OR ii) to the original destination within the UK area. OR iii) to the repairer either in the vicinity of the above locations or to a repairer of your choice. The means of transport shall be at the insurer's discretion.

Excess Protection

Excess Protection will reimburse you the excess you pay following a vehicle theft, fire or fault claim**.

To add Excess Protection to your Car Insurance policy for £22‡, call the Age Co team at the Ageas Contact Centre on 0800 032 9391*.

What is covered?

This optional cover is designed to provide reimbursement of your Excess in the event of an incident during the period of insurance. The policy reimburses the excess when recovery cannot be made from a third party. The amount paid is the value of your Age Co Car Insurance policy excess up to a maximum of £500, (if the excess exceeds the amount the policyholder will be responsible for the difference). A maximum of two claims in the period of insurance are permitted.

Limited to £1,500 during the period of insurance and claims will be excluded for an emergency within 14 days of the date of the first purchase of this policy.
